The Gathering of Furnitures
Reminiscent of the 1970s and normally low slung, the sectional sofa is an interesting piece of furniture in any room. Often filling larger spaces with character and purpose, this type of sofa allows individuals to choose specific styles of fabric or leather as the key material in the design. While leather gives these sofas a formal and antiquated look, those made of fabric are more versatile. It is common that the modern sectional sofa has added accessories comprising large fluffed up cushions that are either in the same or contrasting fabrics.
Known as the corner sofa in the United Kingdom, these sectional seats allow for a variety of positioning choices depending on the number of sections that are bought. While the main structure usually comprises two pieces joined at a 90-degree angle, there is the option of adding another 90-degree angle thereby creating a “U” structure.
Such an arrangement is particularly useful for larger families where there is a space constraint in the home.
